Separation Print this page

Separation prior to processing or pucking is essential for many chip streams. Inter-Source has designed several models of separators to ensure we have what best meets your separation needs.

Vibratory and static grate separators are used when unwanted objects (rags, trash, etc.) could be frequently introduced into the system. Because these separators are engineered and manufactured by Inter-Source, they are specifically sized to handle your material.

This video depicts solids on a vibratory deck - the chips have already passed through the grating at this point - that are passing through a trap door and out into a solids collection container while the chips that have passed through the grating go on for further processing.

High-efficiency two-stage separators are typically integrated into the chip processing system to separate stray parts, bar ends and tooling.

Slot screws allow for quick adjustment up and down from the catch basin area to accommodate chip variances with production changes. The easily reversed impingement plate offers a standard square edge and a sawtooth edge for use with lighter alloys or more finely cut chips.

Clean aluminum chips are pneumatically transported to a remote staging area in preparation for remelt while ferrous material is collected in carts adjacent to the system.
